The finals of our North American Pairs, the NAP, are being contested on November 18th for Flight B players and on November 19th for Flight A and C players. We have 12 approved venues throughout the district from which you may play. Other venues might become available.
Bring your laptops and play on BBO. Your partner can play from the same venue or from any other approved venue. Play starts at 11AM Portland time. You should be at your venue and logged in to BBO at least 15 minutes earlier. Be sure to know the passwords for your BBO account.
You must pre-register a week before the event. The registration form is on the D20 website in the NAP section.
Eleven pairs, the top three in each flight and the fourth-place finishers in B and C, will earn red and gold points and the right to represent the district at the spring nationals next March in Louisville. The NAPs are a wonderful opportunity for emerging players to earn colored points.
Please read about Roger Thomas’s experiences with these events in last summer’s Declarer.
He has won over 175 red and gold points playing in North American events.
In addition to the points you may earn, the top finishers receive subsidies from the ACBL. Each player from the winning pair receives $700. Second place players receive $350 each. D20 usually provides a small amount for the third and fourth place players.
Please ask your area representative for help. You may also contact Hal Montgomery for help with eligibility or finding a partner or playing venue. His email address is: dewitt@imaginata.com
Our Grand National Teams (GNT) will be starting this winter. Please get your teams together. We will be publishing our Conditions of Contest soon.
