President’s Corner – November 2023

Thanksgiving season is a time when we all take a moment or two to reflect on those things for which we are grateful. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for all the folks who help make District 20 such a great organization.

When I agreed to serve as President nearly two years ago now, there were two things I knew for sure. The first was that the position had been offered to twenty-two folks prior to me accepting. The second was that I was going to need a lot of help because I was clueless per what I was being asked to do.

Turns out I needed not to have worried. It has been my great good fortune these past two years to serve with the most incredible group of competent and dedicated folks. I am truly grateful.

Like most of you out there, I was one of those folks who showed up at the various District events and never gave much thought to what it took to create those events. Well, I can report that things don’t just happen. There is a lot of work and effort that goes into making things runs so smoothly. So, the next time you attend or participate in a District event, take a moment to acknowledge the folks who have made it possible. Even better, consider how you too might become involved.

With gratitude,

Don Marsh
