Steve Acker – NABC Master

Steve Acker, NABC Master

Thank you for acknowledging my new rank in the bridge world. Bridge is such a collaborative endeavor that many people and groups need to be mentioned. First is my steadfast partner, Lynda Bishop. Then there is the Portland Bridge Club, with a welcoming and supportive environment engendered by owners David Castles, Dave Brower, and Jamie Sparks. Dave and David are both amazing teachers who have helped me so much. There are the great folks who put on tournaments in Oregon and Washington, and experts we turn to online or in print such as Larry Cohen, Barbara Seagram, Audrey Grant, and Adam Parrish. Finally, it’s all the people we meet at the table, with such varied life stories, ranging from beginners to top-flight professionals, nearly all friendly and respectful, who make the experience worthwhile.

I am both humbled by how much I have to learn and deeply grateful for the satisfying challenges I’ve already experienced.

Best regards,

Steve Acker
