John Lusky – Platinum Life Master

I learned bridge from my parents at age 8 on a rainy vacation. My first duplicate game was in 1969 about the time I graduated from high school. 55 years later I inched over the 10,000 MP line at the Portland Sectional, partnered by Dennis Metcalf.

My legal career limited my bridge participation somewhat, although I have always tried to make time for the Grand National Teams and, until retirement, the North American Pairs. Since retirement, I have been traveling a lot with my wife (who does not play bridge), but I try to get to one or two NABCs per year.

The secret to winning is good partners and teammates. Special thanks to longtime friends and partners Randy Pickett and Dennis Metcalf, my first serious partner Oris Mowry, my late friend and partner Jim Elliott, my more recent regular partners Allan Falk and Eric Stoltz, and frequent teammates Marc Zwerling, Mark Tolliver, Wolfe Thompson, John Ashton, Troy Horton, Tony Glynne and Jeff Roman.

Also special thanks to D20 GNT and NAP coordinators through the years, including Dennis Sorensen, Jim Elliott, and most recently Hal Montgomery, all of whom have shown great dedication to putting on quality District events in changing bridge landscapes through the years.
