North American Events
June is the start of qualifying games for our North American Pairs (NAP). F2F and online clubs hold qualifying games through August. To be eligible for our district finals you must have qualified in a club sometime over the summer. You don’t have to qualify in a D20 club. You may qualify in any club in the ACBL, many online clubs run NAP qualifying games. You qualify as an individual but may play with any eligible player in the district finals. You may play in more than one flight in the district final but may represent the district in only one flight at the nationals.
Our district finals will be held on BBO Saturday, Nov. 23rd for Flight B and Sunday, Nov. 24 for Flights A and C. Three Pairs in Flight A and four pairs in Flights B and C will earn the right to represent us at the spring nationals in Memphis next March. The NAP affords you the chance to play against players throughout the district and nation who are of similar accomplishment in terms of masterpoint holdings.
The masterpoint awards are very generous, and our online format enables players to compete from locations all over the district. Some Flight C and B players have accumulated 200 masterpoints playing in our North American events, playing in multiple district finals and getting to the nationals. The awards are split between gold and red points and top finishers earn Blue and Red Ribbon qualifications.
You must play at a sanctioned venue, even though we play on BBO. Your local area reps will help develop venues to play from. Direct questions to the Coordinator, Hal Montgomery: dewitt@imaginata.com
