Oregon Trail Regional Online Evening Games

As part of the planning process for the 2024 Oregon Trail Regional, there has been a lively discussion about evening games. If we hold Regionals with no night games, how can we expect working people to participate? Yet if we schedule and advertise a night game and not enough people show up to hold it, that’s even worse!

The potential solution is being trialed this year for the first time ever in District 20: hold the night games on Bridgebase (BBO).

On February 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. PST, there will be a two-session, pairs game held on BBO as part of the Oregon Trail Regional. The hope is that many of you who cannot play during the day or cannot travel to Oregon will participate. With enough attendance, there will be both a Gold Rush and an Open Section. Those who score in the overalls will win Gold points.

What do you think? Are you planning to play? I’d love to hear your feedback!
