President’s Corner – July 2024

D20Declarer July 2024
Hi Everyone,
Hope everyone had a safe and sane (At least as best possible these days)July 4 th . I was able to attend the Portland (AKA Wilsonville) Sectional. Congrats to Paul Walker and the entire group of folks who put on a very, very successful event. The playing site at the Al Kader Shrine Center is an outstanding venue and might even be a place to consider holding the OTR someday but that’s a discussion for another day.

Margot Hennings, President of ACBL, has announced that she will be attending our Seaside Regional. Yet one more reason for you to put this event on your calendar. The dates are September 30 th thru October 6 th . We want to do everything we can to ensure that President Hennings returns to ACBL headquarters singing our praises. A record table-count turnout wouldbe great. Special thanks here to Area Representative Jackie Zayac for all her efforts in coordinating Margot’s visit. If you have not already done so, now is the time to book your lodging. Tournament Manager Jim Wheeler has done a great job securing some decent hotel rates. Check the flyer for details.

This is a larger tournament which means there are lots of events for the I/N folks. Please do consider attending.

It is looking more and more like there will be a Regional again next year in Redmond. We will get details out as soon as things are finalized so you can all plan accordingly.

Remember, the best thing you can do for you game is….”Be nice to your
partner.”

With thanks,
Don Marsh
