District 20 may hold up to five open regional tournaments and five non-life master (I/N) regionals per year. Regional tournaments award gold and red masterpoints. Multi-session events generally award gold points for overall awards and section firsts.
The District also participates in two other ACBL sponsored gold and red point events per year, the Grand National Teams (GNT) and the North American Pairs (NAP). Qualifying games for the District Finals take place in clubs, both in-person and online, that award 1/2 red points.
Sectional tournaments, usually two or three days, are hosted by units and clubs throughout the year. Silver Masterpoints can also be earned at in=person clubs in the D20 Sectional Tournaments at Clubs (STaC) weeks held periodically throughout the calendar year. In 2023, two special Royal STaCs are scheduled that award 25% each of gold, red, silver, and black pigmented points.
